Editorial and Commercial Photographer

About

Tony Sanchez began his interest in photography late last century while on summer break from high school.  His friend had some darkroom equipment that they setup and used one day. Tony could not believe the magic of the process. “When I saw the image appear on the paper after swishing around the Dektol, I was hooked.” Tony said. After that experience Tony went home and took ownership of his dad’s Pentax K-1000. Over that summer Tony spent all his spare time in the library and read all the photo books he could get his hands on.

That was then, this is now…

Tony Sanchez is a commercial and editorial photographer: main interest is in people. Tony’s approach on photography is Anthropocentric – what?

An·thro·po·cen·tric adj
1.    Regarding humans as the universe’s most important entity
2.    Seeing things in human terms, especially judging things according to human perceptions, values, and experiences.

A great photo is one where it tells a story of the subject and its maker. It does not matter the technique or equipment used, as long as there is some emotional transfer that occurs between the viewer and photographer. Ansel Adams said, I would rather have a fuzzy picture of a sharp idea, that a sharp picture of a fuzzy idea.

Based in the Los Angeles area, Tony’s vision has been influenced by the Southern California lifestyle.

OK – that was weird writing about myself in the third person.  I just want to say that I really love photography and creating images.

I am available for assignment work, so give me a ring-a-ding-ding at (310) 766-4932.
